$15 Porch Bench

 It finally feels like SPRING!!! What better way to celebrate this sunshine than by spending it outdoors building things??!

A bench to be exact.  

Now that the weather is nice, our front porch will start getting much more use - and I needed something NEW - but not something that would break the bank.

So, I went to Home Depot and got what I needed to make this basic bench.

(Excuse the door mat - you'll see more of that later...)

I had them cut a 2"x10" long board into:

2 - 4' long pieces

2 - 16" pieces

I used a plain ole hammer and nails and attached with with 5 nails on each corner.

Then used one coat of my favorite Minwax wood finish in 'Dark Walnut'.

I let it dry then lightly sanded it with 120 paper.

Voila! I'm pretty impressed with how a $15 - 2 hour bench came out!! I actually like it so much, I'm already planning on making a smaller version for our entryway!
